XY projection of an actively contracting U87 glioblastoma cell embedded in a fluorescently-labeled 0.75mg/mL collagen I gel. Movie shows 1 hour timelapse of collagen fibers during cell contraction. Cell-induced contraction reaches strain values of under -30% locally and fiber buckling is also visible in certain planes. Image is 140 by 70 microns.
