Confocal movie of a Colloidal Bicrystal with a Σ17 Grain boundary: The structure of the bicrystal and the grain boundary is defined by a template. The movie shows a concentration of stacking faults around the grain boundary that is associated with a strongly curved grain boundary in the upper layers.
