New undergraduate course to be taught in Spring 2006:
ES174 Photonic and Electronic Device Laboratory
This course will cover the core topics of photonic and electronic devices through lectures and laboratory experiments. Topics include: laser diodes, optical fibers, photodetectors and MOSFETs. Each of these topics will be covered by one laboratory session and one accompanying lecture, except for the section on MOSFETs. In this section, students will fabricate NMOS transistors using the cleanroom facilities in the Center for Nanoscale Systems (CNS).
